DESCRIPTION:
The
Basset Hound Breed Standard and Terminology
is a
workbook program designed to help breeders, owners and judges develop a
deeper understanding of the official AKC breed standard for the Basset
Hound. Breed standards verbally describe the ideal specimen of each
breed. By carefully studying the Basset Hound standard and doing the
workbook exercises, Basset breeders, handlers and new judges will gain
greater familiarity with the Basset Hound and how to prioritize virtues
and weaknesses in this breed. A
Certificate of Completion
is sent to those completing this course.
TABLE OF CONTENTS:
The
contents of course #103 are in three parts: (1) part one is a copy of
the official AKC Breed Standard for the Basset Hound; (2) part two is a
glossary of terminology which is critical for an in-depth understanding
of this breed; (3) part three is a drawing of the parts of the Basset
Hound, where each feature is identified and described using wording
directly from the breed standard. Following each of these sections is a
series of workbook exercises designed to help the reader learn the
information. Workbook exercises use easy to answer formats like true
and false, fill-in-the blanks, multiple choice and matching questions.
Students who complete the exercises can receive a
Certificate of Completion
from the Basset Hound Club of America.
CD TEMPLATE:
The CD Template for this course is in Powerpoint and is designed to be
copied by anyone who wishes to design a similar course for any other
breed of dog. Because all breeds revolve around the AKC Standard, the
design and layout of this course can be used to develop a similar course
for other breeds. |
